Bangalore, July 27, 2007: Members of the Bhoo Swadheena Virodha Horata Samithi on Thursday took out a protest rally from Nandagudi in Hoskote Taluk to the City, to protest land acquisition for the proposed Special Economic Zone in Nandagudi.

H S Kenchegowda, chairman of the Samithi, said around 3,000 farmers had come to the City in cars and tractors in a show of strength against the SEZ.

Later, the farmers walked to Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum highlighting the issues they were facing due to the SEZ.

JD(U) State president B Somashekhar also joined in the protest.
