SEZ units may have service tax exemptions coming their way

New Delhi, 10 Oct, 2007 (TNN): Developers and units in special economic zones (SEZs) may be in for some additional service tax exemptions. The Centre is looking at the possibility of extending service tax exemption for authorised operations for services rendered both within and outside SEZs. UP seals fate of over a dozen SEZs

New Delhi, 10 Oct, 2007 (TNN): In an unprecedented move, the Uttar Pradesh government has sealed the fate of more than a dozen special economic zone (SEZ) projects, including those by well-known companies such as Wipro, Moser Baer and Nucleus Software, by not recommending them for clearance.
