‘No survey of land for MSEZ’

Mangalore, Nov 01, 2007: Special Land Acquisition Officer and Mangalore Tahsildar have assured the residents of four villages — Permude, Tenka Ekkaru, Delantabettu and Kuttettur —that survey for the special economic zone (SEZ) will not be allowed until a special Gram Sabha with the presence of Deputy Commissioner is convened in this connection. SEZ: land survey work to stop

Mangalore, Nov 01, 2007: All land survey work by the Joint Measurement Committee team, for the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (SEZ), in the four villages of Permude, Ekkar, Delantha Bettu and Kuttetur will be stopped. The work will progress only after Deputy Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao convenes a meeting with farmers who are agitating against the land acquisition in the region.
