New Delhi, November 19, 2007 (PTI): The CPI(M) today opposed BJP’s demand for a debate in Parliament on Nandigram but expressed readiness to discuss matters related to Maoism and terrorism besides SEZ.

New Delhi, November 19, 2007 (IANS): Both the houses of parliament were adjourned Monday till 12 noon after opposition MPs insisted on a discussion on the violence in West Bengal’s Nandigram region. Margao, November 18, 2007: The former Cortalim MLA, Mr Mathany Saldhana expressed surprise that Congress had introduced SEZs without studying the issue and vowed to fight against the government’s “anti-Goans” SEZ policy.“Any government is expected to first study and debate an issue,” Mr Saldhana said ridiculing the government’s decision to form a cabinet sub-committee to study the issue.
