MSEZ to move proposal in next board meeting

Mangalore, December 7, 2007: Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) would move a proposal to include Bajpe International Airport in ‘SEZ corridor’ in the next SEZ board meeting planned in New Delhi. MSEZ Managing Director Prasad, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) president Kumble Narasimha Prabhu when apprised about the direct and indirect benefits of having duty-free shops at Bajpe Airport had been impressed, sources told this website’s newspaper. Cipla’s Goa SEZ runs into trouble, again

Panaji, December 8, 2007: Cipla’s plan to develop an SEZ in Goa received a serious jolt on Friday when the north Goa collector ordered removal of all machinery from the site after villagers stalled work for the second time. Panels to take SEZs out of governance twilight zone

Kolkata, December 8, 2007: The Union commerce ministry has expedited the process of creating a corporate governance structure for upcoming special economic zones (SEZs) in the country. It plans to set up a governing committee for SEZs in each state comprising of SEZ developers, representatives from the state government and the units functioning at an SEZ.
