New Delhi, January 30, 2008: A Rs 1700-crore special economic zone (SEZ) on the lines of Silicon Valley would be set up in Rajasthan on an area of 50 acres in Bhiwadi which will house software and IT-enabled firms as well as provide accommodation to the professionals.
The SEZ called Silicon City, which was inaugurated in Bhiwadi by the chief minister, Mrs Vasundhara Raje, would also have manufacturing facilities. Industries minister, Mr Digamber Singh was also present on the occasion. Mr Singh welcomed all the software firms and IT firms to put development of the state on a fast track by setting up their units in the Silicon City.
Bhiwadi has been notified as an IT SEZ and is being built on 50-acre of prime land which is connected with Gurgaon by the National Highway-8.
