Laws are made to benefit and serve the largest number of people. These laws are sometimes good, but if they are bad, inimical to the interests of the people, we need to change them. Laws are made not to serve some but the majority. To say that a notified Special Economic Zones (SEZs) cannot be de-notified is absurd because it is anti-society. (more…)

Last three days have been witness to State terror in U Kothapalli and Thongdangi Mandals of East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh where the government proposes to set up a Special Economic Zone. Revenue authorities, police and goons of broker, who has been buying land from the people on behalf of the proposed SEZ authorities, have been trying to set up a fence. (more…)

New Delhi, January 21, 2008: The government on Monday granted in-principle approval to Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Haryana SEZ Ltd, clearing the first hurdle for a tax-free multi-product special economic zone (SEZ) at Jhajjar near Gurgaon in Haryana, not far from Delhi.
