Mangalore, February 28, 2008: MANGALORE: Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) Managing Director I S N Prasad deposed before the meeting of expert committee on Infrastructure Development and Miscellaneous Projects held in New Delhi on Wednesday.

MSEZ Managing Director Prasad accompanied by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) A G Pai and experts from NEERI, National Institute of Oceanography submitted documents on MSEZ, which is stiffly being opposed by local farmers.

Prasad, when contacted, told this website’s newspaper that the committee had sought additional clarifications on the project.

“We answered their queries,” Prasad said. Based on the hearing, recommendations compiled by the expert committee would be submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Forests, sources said.
