Citizens’ Research Collective on SEZ

Tirunelveli, March 16, 2008: The International Women’s Day celebrations organised here on Saturday by Social Change and Development, a non-governmental organisation, urged the Central and State Governments to establish banks and special economic zones (SEZ) exclusively for women.

The meeting said the government should provide SHGs with free computers and extend fee concessions in higher education and professional courses for girl students from poor families. Stringent legislations should be enacted to protect the welfare of women working abroad.
